Critical DraftSight HotFix: DraftSight Will Not Launch

It has come to the attention of the DraftSight team that, 32 & 64-bit versions of DraftSight released from 2012 to 2017 will not launch and/or will stop running as of March 1, 2017. SOLIDWORKS has made available a critical hotfix to resolve this issue.

It has come to our attention there are some time out issues with the 2017 Network Licenses. You try to open SOLIDWORKS or PDM and receive an error similar to this. This will also present itself in other ways that you are connecting to the license server. Like adding the connection port during install or viewing the License Usage on the client license manager.

SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP3 Is Available for Early Visibility

SOLIDWORKS has made the 2016 SP3 EV available for download. The main reason I bring this up is because they said the classic colors for icons could be used.

Now on first look I opened a part amd they did have color for the Feature tool bar. The 2016 SP3 with classic colors is on top and the 2015 is on bottom.

Many SOLIDWORKS customers purpose to wait for Service Pack 2.0 to ensure a smooth transition to the new year version of SOLIDWORKS. If you have ever purposed to buy something new, you find that often the very first version often has little issues that need to be corrected.  SOLIDWORKS works hard to correct those issues right away and Service Pack 2.0 is the fruit of that labor.  Wisdom is the application of knowledge, in this case the knowledge we have is that thousands of SOLIDWORKS users have submitted feedback to SOLIDWORKS to make these corrections and improvements.
