Job Description

As a Sales Assistant you are supporting our sales representatives with preparing and creating sales documents, running reports and providing an organized office environment. The key goal of this position is to maximize their sales productivity. We will guarantee you challenging work, tight deadlines, and high demands in a rewarding environment.

  • Prepare and send quotes based on customer needs.
  • Create sales orders promptly and accurately to result in expediting the order fulfillment and billing process.
  • Facilitates communication between Sales Representatives and other internal departments to resolve client issues and needs.
  • Develop customized sales proposals, presentations, and information packets.
  • Assist in calendar management including setting and confirming appointments.
Desired Experience and Skills

PDM Application Engineer »

Job Description

The PDM Application Engineer will provide technical support to our SOLIDWORKS PDM customers and work with our certified PDM team to provide our customers successful SOLIDWORKS PDM software implementations and training.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide pre and post sales technical support for the SOLIDWORKS PDM product line
  • Ensure successful implementation of SOLIDWORKS PDM products

Primary Objectives

  • Identify, evaluate and respond to key business issues of our prospects and customers and develop, present and demonstrate SOLIDWORKS PDM capabilities
  • Work in unison with the technical support team to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with sales professionals to stimulate, encourage, establish and develop account relationships for SOLIDWORKS PDM products and services

Specific Responsibilities

  • Quickly and accurately determine a customer’s technical issues with the SOLIDWORKS PDM software and troubleshoot to find a solution via telephone, email, live collaborative Internet support services
  • Properly document and follow-up on all support cases using our CRM software
  • Visit customers onsite to implement and upgrade SOLIDWORKS PDM software and facilitate customer success

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SOLIDWORKS PDM product line
  • Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD
  • Broad knowledge and experience with Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL Server, networking and Internet services
  • Demonstrate ability to administer and use Windows based computer systems and to troubleshoot computer software and hardware malfunctions
  • SOLIDWORKS PDM API experience a plus
  • CEPA certification a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel to customer sites locally and occasional long distance trips with overnight stay required
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience

An Application Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive pre and post-sales technical skills for the DS SOLIDWORKS Corp product line (“SOLIDWORKS”) and various partner product lines, including but not limited to customer service, training, product positioning, and competitive overviews, and to deliver product presentations to prospects and customers both at the end user and management levels.

It is your responsibility to insure that customers receive the benefits of our SOLIDWORKS’ solution to their multi-divisional, multi-seat networked MCAD needs. Working in conjunction with other Symmetry Solutions’ personnel, DS SOLIDWORKS Corporation and SOLIDWORKS Solution Partners, you are also responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of our business solutions and addressing the customer’s requirements over possible multiple locations.

  • Provide technical customer support via telephone, email, and live collaborative desktop conferencing applications and services.
  • Work in unison with the technical support team to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with our sales consultants to stimulate, encourage, establish and develop account relationships for SOLIDWORKS products and services.
  • Identify, evaluate and respond to key business issues of the customer and/or prospect and develop, present and demonstrate SOLIDWORKS capabilities as it relates to those issues.
  • Introduce and integrate SOLIDWORKS and solution partner resources to the customer to demonstrate capability, educate customer personnel, and facilitate SOLIDWORKS success.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Ability to quickly determine customer technical problems and assist customers in troubleshooting software problems via telephone and email. Must have excellent communication skills and patience working with customers.
  • Thorough knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and certain solution partner products in order to perform tasks listed under Principal Duties and Responsibilities, above. Some of this may be acquired in three to six months of on-the-job technical training.
  • Ability to administer and use Windows-based computer systems and to troubleshoot computer software and hardware malfunctions. This may be acquired with one to two months of on-the job technical training.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work with and train others in technical support, demonstration, and training methodologies.

Working in conjunction with other VAR personnel, SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Solution Partners, you are also responsible for ensuring the integration of the SOLIDWORKS solution and addressing the customer’s design automation requirements over possible multiple locations. Additionally, you are responsible for the following:

  • Initiate sales activities to stimulate, encourage, establish and develop account relationships for SOLIDWORKS and related products and services.
  • Identify, evaluate and respond to key business issues of accounts, present and demonstrate SOLIDWORKS capabilities to the potential customer.
  • Introduce and integrate VAR technical resources as well as SOLIDWORKS and Solution Partner resources to the customer to demonstrate capability, educate customer personnel and facilitate project management.
  • Communicate effectively with SOLIDWORKS Channel Management to appropriately integrate SOLIDWORKS resources in the sales process and implementation plan.
